A Visit to The King’s house in Memphis

Jayne and Andy joined me and 40+ folks from the K-T District in Memphis at the 2010 Key Club International Convention. We toured Graceland, The Civil Rights Museum, and even had time to squeeze a lunch in at the Rendezvous restaurant.

Myrtle Beach 2008

We’ve taken the week of the Knox County fall break to spend some time at the beach with friends and family. The weather has been cool but very nice during the day. There’s been loads of seafood and some golf. We highly recommend the food at the Dockside and Seafood Hut (Calabash, NC), and the Carolina Roadhouse in Myrtle Beach. Great food! Epcot

During the 2008 Kiwanis International Convention in Orlando, I was able to play hooky one day and visited Epcot with Jayne and Andy. Of course it began raining right after we got there and continued throughout the day. We bought three attractive (over-priced) ponchos and kept slogging through it.

We stayed at the International Plaza Spa & Resort which is adjacent to Sea World. I think we enjoyed Sea World more than Epcot. I visited Epcot 20 years ago and it hadn’t changed that much. In retrospect, I wish we had gone to the Magic Kingdom.

Another cell-phone photo from Las Vegas. Walking (yes, walking) back from the Renaissance Hotel where we ate at ENVY The Steakhouse, I shot this of the Las Vegas Hilton, home of the Barry Manilow, Music and Passion show. No. Haven’t seen BM around the hotel but overheard a woman in the lobby saying that they had come out to LV to celebrate Barry’s recent birthday. It’s a wild place.
